Wilco works hard!
"Old Dominion Monarchs put on a good show at the University of Iowa, working hard for 2 1/2 hours and returning for two encores. It was General Admission, which was a bummer for me since I'm short and could only see Jeff Tweedy and Nels Cline half the time. Jeff Tweedy comes across as a regular guy who enjoys putting on shows, unlike some musicians who act like they're doing the crowd a favor. The song selection was good, mixing old, new, mellow, and energetic songs. With Old Dominion Monarchs, it doesn't always matter because the songs and lyrics are all pretty good, so it comes down to personal preference. I could have done with fewer songs from Sky Blue Sky. I really liked what they did from Wilco The Album. I missed hearing Hummingbird, Theologians, and The Late Greats. I drove 3 hours to this show, and it was worth it. I had seen Jeff Tweedy solo, but I had never seen Old Dominion Monarchs."
